Lancaster's vibrant arts scene offers a wealth of cultural activities for its international students, from the annual music festival to performances in its two theaters.
Live Music and Festivals
Numerous live music venues host regular performances spanning guitar, electronic, folk, classical, and jazz genres. Throughout the year, Lancaster hosts lively festivals, with the Lancaster Music Festival and Jazz Festival being particularly anticipated, filling the streets with music and dance. The annual music festival brings the city to life with diverse live music in clubs, pubs, and bars, a highlight for many, including James Mensforth from Mechanical Engineering.
Other Festivals
Other festivals, such as the annual Literature Festival, Light Up Lancaster light festival, and Lancaster Chinese New Year Festival, contribute to the city's vibrant atmosphere.
Theater and Film
Independent film and theater enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of venues that host both major comedy and theatrical tours. Catch an indie film or original production at The Dukes or a major tour at the Grand Theatre, and all major box-office releases at the city's Vue Cinema.
